On June 1, more than 50 CKA members gathered at Loyola Marymount University for the annual West Coast Member's Meeting in Los Angeles. Members spent the afternoon discussing CKA's new mission and new initiatives presented by Executive Director Abraham Kim and Senior Director Jessica Lee. Additionally, CKA Board member Dr. Edward Chang shared his new 35-min documentary detailing the 100+ year history of the Korean American community in the United States. Finally, Dr. Taeku Lee of UC Berkeley presented his national survey research on the current political and economic views of the Korean American community.
The day concluded with an evening networking reception attended by over 100 members and guests, including Congressmen Ted Lieu and Gil Cisneros; VA State Delegate Mark Keam; Orange County Supervisor Michelle Steel; LA City Councilman David Ryu; and Former CA State Assemblywoman Young Kim.
